Wrapping Up Our Preparations

*Bows* Sa wat dee khrap. Pom cheu Mike khrap.1 I'm happy to be a member of this year's GSE team to Thailand. As you can see from prior posts, we have been spending a lot of time these past few months preparing for our trip. Everything really started to come together at last night's meeting.

First, Jessica showed us a near-final draft of the brochure we will be handing out while in Thailand. It really looks sharp, and with just a few more touch-ups it should be ready to print. The company Jessica works for, Quebecor, will graciously be donating the printed brochures and has spent a lot of time working with us on the design.

Next, Jennifer went through the presentation she has created over the past several weeks. We will be presenting at approximately 16 different clubs while in Thailand next month, so it's a big part of our trip. After running through and practicing once, it looks like we are pretty close to finishing that up as well. At our meeting on the 16th, we will be giving a full practice run to a small audience.

Finally, Kristin wrapped up the meeting by putting together all the gifts we have purchased for our host families and Rotary clubs in Thailand. At previous meetings, we spent time thinking of gift ideas, and Kristin did a great job of getting everything ordered and shipped with plenty of time to spare.

Overall, between the above and language training, the preparations are coming together well. It's incredible to think we will be leaving 3 weeks from today, but I'm confident all this hard work will truly pay off with a great trip to the country of Thailand.

1Translation: Greetings, my name is Mike.
