Since arriving here in Thailand, we have been treated to some of the best food we've ever tasted. Thai meals are shared family-style, and plate after plate of delicious food is delivered to our table at every meal. It's worth re-mentioning the service as well...you'll never have an empty drink glass at a Thai restaurant, someone is always there making sure you have a great experience at their establishment.
Even with all the great food, it's strange the food cravings we'll get while here. It's not too often that we will find American food (sandwiches, french fries, pasta, etc), but when we do, we almost always jump at the chance. One of our greatest cravings since the beginning of our trip is for a nice big plate of nachos. Never mind how simple of a dish nachos is--none of us can explain it, but we all want some. The problem is that cheese is pretty rare here in Thailand, and corn tortilla chips are even more scarce.
Tonight while at the Chatuchak Rotary meeting, one of the items on the dinner menu was none other than nachos! We were completely floored, and quickly ordered 4 plates. Imagine our dismay when the waiter returned to notify us that they ran out! We each ordered some tasty alternatives, which along with the club's very warm welcome of our group more than made up for this loss. (Again, we would like to thank the Chatuchak club for their kind hospitality, we very much enjoyed ourselves this evening.)
Our quest for nachos in Thailand continues...

That is weird what we crave. But Nachos out of all things leaves me wondering what I will miss.
Like 'ballpark' nachos or fully-loaded smothered nachos? Great, now I'm craving nachos...
A tortilla chip with any kind of melted cheese (or cheese-like substance) on top would do. I prefer the smothered nachos, personally.
We're tempted to hit Q'doba on the way home from the airport next Saturday. :-)
Ummm...slimey 7-11 nachos...we can't even get a Dorito here but Lays are available.
In a world of dom yam gung, theirs was a quest for nachos.
You are almost ready to get on the plane. Can you believe it? When you arrive I will have Nachos in hand at the MBS airport.
